National Forest Centre – Institute for Forest Consulting and Education Zvolen (NFC–IFCE Zvolen) actively cooperates at international level in the fields of vocational education and communication in forest sector.
NFC–IFCE Zvolen has rich experience in international projects. The Institute has implemented various projects funded mainly by Lifelong Learning Programme (or its predecessors), such as
FORESTLANG – development of vocational English training for forestry staff
ILEGEFOS – development of vocational German training for forestry staff
PAWS – development of a training course for forest-related environmental education
NILFORET – a mobility project aimed to transfer best practices in non-formal and informal learning from Finnish education
LANSAWOOD – development of health and safety measures including signs and signals in wood-processing industry
TrainForEducation – transfer of a didactical approach for distance (on-line) learning for further forestry education. The project is implemented within Leonardo da Vinci (LLP) framework.
CaseForest – development of a methodology for teaching about forest ecosystems and their importance for everyday life (forest communication and environmental education). The project is implemented within LLP framework.
At the present time, the Institute cooperates in following ongoing international projects and activities:
Tracopi – "Enhancing local program based innovation and development – a landscape and natural resources perspective". The project is aimed at improving collaborative planning practices in the field of landscape and natural resources through training for planners. The project is implemented within Leonardo da Vinci (LLP) framework.
VETWOOD – development of training methodology and materials for lifelong learning for vocational college students, university students and professionals in woodworking industry and SMEs in relation to vocational English language training. The project is implemented within Leonardo da Vinci (LLP) framework.
NFC–IFCE Zvolen cooperates with United Nations through involvement in following networks:
The Institute participates in
International Year of Forests 2011. It has organized in-country activities of
European Forest Week 2008 as well as several international seminars on forestry vocational education and forestry communication.
